Jonathan Berry

JONATHAN BERRY (He/Him/His) is a director and teacher in Chicago. Previously at Strawdog: Conversations on a Homecoming. Other Productions include: At Steppenwolf: Lindiwe, The Children, You Got Older, Constellations, Curious Incident…, A Separate Peace, and The Crucible. Steep Theatre (Company Member): Birdland, Red Rex, If There Is I Haven’t Found it Yet, The Knowledge, Festen, Moment and The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui. Griffin (Company Member): The Harvest, Balm in Gilead, Golden Boy, Spring Awakening, Punk Rock, Port, On the Shore of the Wide World, Company, Picnic, Time and the Conways, Dead End, The Hostage and Journey’s End. Roundabout Theater, Suicide, Incorporated. Gift Theatre: the world premieres of Dirty and Suicide, Incorporated, as well as Othello. Goodman Theatre: The Solid Sand Below and The World of Extreme Happiness for New Stages. Assistant Director Broadway productions of Of Mice and Men and This is our Youth. He’s also worked with Chicago Dramatists, Remy Bumppo, Redtwist, Jackalope, Theater Mir, and Lifeline. He pursued his MFA in directing from Northwestern University. He teaches at UIC, Columbia College, Northwestern and The School at Steppenwolf.
