Michael is one of Strawdog's Associate Artistic Directors and an ensemble member since 1997. He most recently appeared in Don Giovanni at the Lyric Opera directed by Robert Falls and as the father in Fox Valley Repertory production of Cheaper By the Dozen, directed by Vance Smith.

At Strawdog he was most recently seen in 'Conversations On A Homecoming' directed by Jonathon Berry, 'Improbable Frequency' directed by Kyle Hamman and Neighborhood 3: Requisition of Doom', directed by Joanie Schultz. Other Strawdog credits include 'Aristocrats', directed by Rick Snyder and 'Marathon '33' directed by Shade Murray, which was awarded a Jeff Citation for Best Ensemble.

In addition to acting in many of the company's productions over the last 15 years, he also worked on the concept and script editing for Measure for Measure, Julius Caesar Original writing has included three short radio pieces for Strawdog Radio Theatre #7 on the Strawdog Mainstage ending the 19th season as well as many presentations of his work from the 'Hit Factory' writing program. He is the script editor and a story adapter for a series of Ben Hecht pieces adapted to radio play format from 1001 Afternoons in Chicago, a collaboration between Strawdog and Access Contemporary Music directed by Anderson Lawfer. He was a member of the cast of this production for the live radio performance on WFMT.

Other stage credits around town include 'Farragut North' at Stage Left, 'Hyde in Hollywood' with Shattered Globe Theatre, 'Time to Burn' and '12 Angry People' with Steppenwolf, 'A Clockwork Orange' and 'Titus Andronicus' with Defiant, 'Flannagan's Wake' with Noble Fool, 'Dream Boy' (the original production with fellow Strawdog John Ferrick) with About Face, 'The Lark' with Eclipse, 'The Sammy Davis Jr. Story' with the Black Ensemble Theatre, 'To the Greenfields Beyond' with Writer's Theatre and understudy for Northlight's production of Craig Wright's 'Grace', Steppenwolf's Productions of 'The Seafarer' and 'The Qualms.'

On camera work include a guest spot on the 'Chicago PD', The Onion's 'Today Now' show, commercials for Phillips, Armed Forces Network, Central Baptist Hospital and Vehix. He was also can be seen portraying John Dillinger in the BBC/Discovery Channel documentry 'The Real Untouchables' and an episode of 'Walker: Texas Ranger'. Film work in includes 'American Virgin' starring Rob Schneider, directed by Clare Kilner, 'King of the Tango (IFP Chicago Production Fund winter) and 'Frames', directed by Zach Mehrbach.

Michael will appear in Once In A Lifetime at Strawdog, directed by Damon Kiely as part of our 27th season.
